LD Students go to DCON – District Convention for MinnDak Key Clubs (Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota)
DCON is all student-led. We have TWO DISTRICT Board members from Lead-Deadwood (Jagger and Abby, next year Taylor will be as well, she just got elected for Division 4, which is our district. There are 11 divisions in our district – we drive the furthest every year as the majority of the divisions are in MN. I think Bismark is the next closest Key Club and they weren’t even there this year. They elect the new board at DCON, set the governor's project, complete countless service projects, and have awards for individual club accomplishments. This year Lead-Deadwood won 3rd for an individual service project, 2nd in Divisional cheer, which was really only our school since no one else in our division is active, Phoenix Canida won 2nd in the talent show, and we won the overall MinnDak K-Family Award for combined service with the local Kiwanis Club. Lots of fun, very little sleep!
