2020-2021 Back-to-School Information

Open House:

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and social distancing guidelines, there will be no Open-House this year. 

9th grade/New student orientation:

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and social distancing guidelines, there will be no 9th grade/New student orientation this year.

New Student Registration:

New students must register between August 17th – 28th, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. in the high school office.  Please bring transcripts, birth certificate, and immunization records.

School Hours:

The first day of school is Wednesday, September 2, 2020. School starts promptly at 8:30am and ends at 3:30pm.  Due to social distancing guidelines, students will not be permitted in the high school prior to 8:15.  Please do not drop off your students or have them come to school prior to 8:15.

Laptop registration:

Students and parents must come to Lead-Deadwood High School to sign required paperwork to receive a school district computer. Both parents and students must sign required paperwork and pay a $25 non-refundable computer protection fee before a computer can be issued, free and reduced lunch recipients may be exempt from the $25 fee. The schedule for laptop registration is as follows:

(Senior/Junior: August 19th), (Sophomore: August 20th), (Freshman: August 21st ).

*The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on those days. 

Building Entrance/Exit Procedure for Laptop Registration

Students and parents will enter the high school through the main entrance. Social distancing “X’s will be place on the route to the 2nd floor technology room. Parents and students will be asked to remain outside until there is an “X” available. Students and parents will exit the building through the cafeteria side entrance.

6th grade/New student orientation:

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and social distancing guidelines, there will be no 6th grade/New student orientation this year.

New Student Registration:

New students must register between August 17th – 28th, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. in the middle school office.  Please bring transcripts, birth certificate, and immunization records.

School Hours:

The first day of school is Wednesday, September 2, 2020. School starts promptly at 8:30am and ends at 3:32pm.  Due to social distancing guidelines, students will not be permitted in the middle school prior to 8:15.  Please do not drop off your students or have them come to school prior to 8:15.

Laptop registration for 6th-8th grade students:

Parents of middle school students and their child must come to Lead-Deadwood Middle School to sign required paperwork to receive a school district computer. Required paperwork may be downloaded from the school website under Menu-Middle School.  Both parents and students must sign required paperwork and pay a $25 non-refundable computer protection fee before a computer can be issued (free and reduced lunch recipients may be exempt from the $25 fee). The schedule for Laptop registration is as follows: (8th  grade: August 19),  (7th grade: August 20) (6th grade: August 21).  The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on those days.

Lead-Deadwood Elementary School K-5

2020-2021 Back-to-School Information

New Student Registration:  K-5 registration in Deadwood Office.  Registration dates are August 24-28 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Required information includes immunization records and a certified birth certificate for all new students.  Prospective Kindergarteners must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2020.  Address/phone number of the school the student previously attended, and a copy of last year’s report card should be provided for students registering in grades 1-5.

OPEN HOUSE 

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and social distancing guidelines, there will be no Open-House this year. 

First Day of School is September 2, 2020.  School begins at 8:10 and dismisses at 3: 10 p.m.  Floors and classrooms will be marked.

Kindergarten Student Hours:  Sept. 2-4, 8:10 to 11:00 a.m.; Sept. 8-11, 8:10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Sept 14 begins full day 8:10 a.m. to 3:10-p.m.

School Hours

Children should not be on the school grounds before 7:55 a.m. unless they arrive on an early bus.  No playground supervision is provided before 7:55 a.m.  Students arriving early by special request of a teacher will report directly to the teacher for reading or study.  Normal school hours will be from 8:10 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
