FYI for Fall Sports Parent/Senior night for each sport will be held on the following dates: Boys Golf - Sept. 30th at the FB game vs. Custer HSVB - Oct. 4th at the VB game vs. Harding County Cross Country - Oct. 11th at the VB vs. New Underwood HSFB - Oct. 14th at the FB game vs. Lakota Tech Mr. Nepodal

Middle School football practice will be 3:45-5:30 this week - just an FYI. Mr. Nepodal

Schedule update: HSVB vs. Hot Springs (August 30) will start at 4:00 - due to our larger participation numbers, we are working on playing a few extra "C" games - this will be one of those dates. More updates will be coming soon on the added games. Schedule for Tuesday, August 30th will be as follows: 4:00 - C (B team) 5:00 - C (A team) 6:00 - JV 7:00 - Varsity *please note that these times (other than 4:00) are approximate and we will roll along with the games and times once we get started. Just a reminder to this year's senior class that our Booster Club will be doing Senior Banners for any senior who participates in an activity or a sport for Lead-Deadwood High School. This includes all sports, all clubs, NHS, Student Council, Band, Choir, One Act, Oral Interp, etc. - anything that is sponsored by and meets regularly at LD High School would be included. Here are the details: Date: Monday, August 22 Time/Place: 6:30 at the high school cafeteria What to wear: black shirt (shows up best) or if you have a uniform to wear, please do that as well Any questions - please direct to Shannon Mollman from the Booster Club - thank you! Laptop Registration/Check-Out for high school students, grades 9-12 starts tomorrow, Tuesday, August 16th -Thursday August 18th. The office will be open from 8:00am to 3:00pm.

MSFB will begin tomorrow, Monday, August 15th for grades 7 and 8 with Coach Janssen and Coach Thompson. Time of practice will be 5:30-7:00 this week Monday-Thursday - meet at the high school. Coaches will give out further information and schedules to the players. Mr. Nepodal

Attention: Parents of Seniors for the upcoming school year! The Lead-Deadwood Booster Club is showcasing any Senior involved in sports and/or club at LDHS by selling and creating Senior banners for $40. Two different picture sessions will be scheduled. Please bring the order form and payment. The first picture session for banners will be on August 22 @ 6:30 p.m. Please meet by the stairs by Gym 1. There is a change in start times for middle school sports - MSFB is working with the HSFB team at this time but will also be starting on their own Aug. 15th at 5:30-7:30. The MSVB team will be starting on Aug. 15th as well - NOT Aug. 22nd as earlier reported. Sorry for the confusion. Seniors: The September 10th ACT registration deadline is AUGUST 6th. Go to the website www.act.org to register. If you have questions, contact Mrs. Britzman. The next test will be in October, and then December. ACT is used for college admission and scholarships.

Just a reminder that if you are planning to play a Fall sport in grades 6-12 this year, you will need a physical done and turned into the office (Mary Schumacher) before you can start practice - no physical, no practice. Starting dates are as follows: Sideline cheer - August 1 HSFB - Aug. 4, Boys Golf - Aug. 8, HSVB and CC (include JH runners) - Aug. 11, JHFB - Aug. 15 and JHVB - Aug. 22nd. A reminder that we will be having our Fall Sports Meeting - both athlete and parents should attend this - on Tuesday, August 2nd. The booster club will provide a hot dog feed starting at 6:00 with the meeting starting at 6:30. Hot dog feed will be in the high school cafeteria and then we will have our meeting in Gym 2 with breakouts for each individual Fall sport afterwards. This will be for any student who plans to play a Fall sport (FB, VB, Cross Country, Sideline cheer or Boys Golf) in grades 6-8 (FB is only 7-12 though). Thank you and see you there! Mr. Nepodal

Reminder: Our Fall sports meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd for all students who will be participating in Fall sports (Football, volleyball, sideline cheer, boys golf and cross country). This is also for the parents. While it isn't mandatory, this is a great meeting to gather information, turn in forms, meet coaches, and hear the plan for the upcoming sports season. This is for grades 6-12 this Fall. Mr. Nepodal

There will be a meeting for anyone interested in being a high school football cheerleader this Friday, June 3rd at 9:00 AM in Gym 3 at the high school. If you are going into grades 9-12 next Fall and are interested in being a football cheerleader for the Diggers - this meeting is for you! Mr. Nepodal

Graduation will be live streamed today on NFHS @ 2:00. Go to the school website, under Menu - Activities - NFHS Network. Create a free account and search for Lead-Deadwood to watch.

The Deadwood Clinic will once again be offering free physicals to those planning to participate in athletics next year (2022-2023). You will need to make an appointment with the clinic to get it done - paperwork is available at the high school and some will be dropped off at the clinic. These physicals will be available June through August. Keep in mind that your student-athlete will not be able to participate or start practice until a physical has been turned in to the AD's office or to the Head Coach for their sport. This does include both the Middle School and High School athletic teams. Thank you to the clinic for offering these for free each year - it is much appreciated! Mr. Nepodal

Congratulations to our two girls' golfers who medaled yesterday at the Region meet in Belle Fourche! Ashley Lary placed 25th and Gayle Thompson 15th! Gayle also qualified for the state golf meet in Sioux Falls on June 6-7 - congratulations! Mr. Nepodal

The Region Track meet tomorrow (Thursday - May 19) at Rapid City Christian has had a slight time change - field events still start at 9:00, but running events will now start at 9:30 rather than 10:00 due to the forecasted weather later in the day. Mr. Nepodal
