Last week's Shining Light was presented to Ms. Kayla Peplinski by Ms. Alexis Hauf. "I chose Kayla Peplinski to be the shining light because of her kind and fun personality. She’s been quite the delight to talk to in and outside of school. I think she’s doing an excellent job for her first year in this district. Not to mention I admire how Pinterest perfect her room is!"

Ms. Maura Nistler chose Ms. Melayna Waisanen as last week’s Lead-Deadwood Elementary Shining Light. “In my classroom this year and last, there is a common question. A person might think first graders are asking, 'When is recess?' but they are usually asking, 'Can we go hug Ms. Waisanen?' Melayna Waisanen is our Shining Light because the kindness and compassion she gives to our students is carried with them throughout elementary.”

This week, Ms. Dana Schubauer presented the Lead-Deadwood Elementary Shining Light to Ms. Maura Nistler. "Ms. Nistler started with our district in the middle of the year last year which was really difficult, but she did an outstanding job. She even decided to come back this year! Ms. Nistler always comes with a smile, meets our students where they are, and creates engaging lessons that her students love every day. She is such a kind and wonderful person to work with. "
