To help students navigate the wide variety of resources available to them, the South Dakota Statewide Family Engagement Center has created The Ultimate College and Career Resource Guide (https://sdsfec.org/college-career-guide/). This is a free online “one-stop-shop” resource guide for students, families, schools, and communities.
From exploring careers to looking at colleges to figuring out how to pay for college, this guide is intended to help students and their families plan for the future.
We encourage you to check out this useful resource as you plan for the future. You are also encouraged to visit with Mrs. Britzman, high school counselor, for additional information and resources.

At its August 18th board meeting, the Lead Deadwood School Board approved attendance rules for high school football, volleyball, and dance contests this fall. The District will use a pass list system to limit the number of people in attendance.
Each rostered member for each team (player, coach, manager, cheer members, etc.) for football, dance, and volleyball will be allowed to list four names for admission to the contest. High School students and pre K-12 staff members from both competing schools will be allowed to attend without being on the pass list, as long as they have, a valid/current school issued ID or are identified by a school official. Elementary and Middle School students must be on the pass list to attend. There will be no pass list for Golf and Cross Country, nor for Middle School contests. Other essential game personnel (officials, event workers, administration, and media) will be allowed to enter the game.
The list will be generated by both schools and given to the host school AD 24 hours before the event is to take place.
While Black Hills area schools may have similar protocols, they will likely be slightly different based on local decisions.
Please call Dan Leikvold at 717-3890 if you have questions. Thank you.
